Measure the basal area forest stands using any of these English BAF’s: 5, 10, 20 or 40. Consists of an aluminum die-cut gauge and a 25” bead chain. To use, hold the button at the end of the chain in your teeth and extend the Cruz-All away from your eye until chain is taut. Looking through the Cruz-All, “count” all trees appearing wider at breast height than the opening for the basal area factor you’re using.

This products works very well and is good and durable. I like the price point of it too. The only recommendation would be to have replacements for the mouthpiece in silicone. Sometimes heat or cold hardens and cracks the current material.

Much prefered over a prism! Borderline trees are still a little difficult to see at times but overall it's much easier. Great cheaper alternative to buying 4 different prisms. I have never broken one!
